This theme or sub-genre of Slice of Life was popularized by Usagi Drop, aka Bunny Drop. Another good example of childcare anime is Gakuen Babysitters, Beelzebub and Hanamaru Kindergarten. Childcare theme in anime/manga is sometimes accompanied with Coming-of-age. Example is Usage Drop mentioned above.
